Angelina Jolie having her “ovaries removed” claims a US publication

                                 

People magazine in the US have alleged that Angelina Jolie will have her ovaries removed in order to decrease her chances of developing cancer.
The claim comes just days after the actress admitted she’d had a double mastectomy following the discovery she carried the BRCA1 gene, which gave her an 87% chance of developing breast cancer and a 50% chance of developing the disease in her ovaries.
Most doctors advise that women who carry the faulty gene should undergo the procedure before the age of 40 and Angelina is now approaching her 38th birthday.
Her own mother died of cancer at the age of 56 and writing about her decision in the New York Times the Hollywood star said she had the operation so that her six children “don’t need to fear they will lose [her] to breast cancer.”
She added:
“It is reassuring that they see nothing that makes them uncomfortable. They can see my small scars and that’s it.
“Everything else is just Mommy, the same as she always was. And they know that I love them and will do anything to be with them as long as I can.”
Yesterday Brad Pitt spoke out in support of his long-term partner saying she was “absolutely heroic”
