Yesterday we learned that Angelina Jolie had a preventative double mastectomy after finding out that she carried the breast cancer gene and today we’re learning a bit more about what the actress has planned as far as further surgeries go.
According to PEOPLE Magazine, Angelina is also planning on going ahead and having her ovaries removed since she was told she has an over 50% chance of developing ovarian cancer. Her mother, French actress Marcheline Bertrand died of ovarian cancer at the young age of 56.
I think it’s wonderful that Angelina has decided to open up and reveal this to the public. She is definitely increasing awareness of both diseases.
