“Who
is Chief Keef?”, you’re asking. You’ve read the headline and you are
asking that question. Well: good question. Allow us to answer it. Chief
Keef is a *checks Wikipedia* 17-year-old rapper who is famous for
*scrolls down* some songs, and who is just terribly mad at Katy Perry right now. Oh dear, Katy Perry. Oh dear.
It
all started on Tuesday, when Katy tweeted: “Just heard a new song on the
radio called "I hate being sober" I now have serious doubt for the
world.” What we think she meant was ‘it is bad that kids want to be
drunk all the time’, but it came out more like ‘this terrible song is
terrible. It is so, so terrible. Gosh, have you heard this? It is the worst.’ This made Chief Keef, the song’s originator, ‘unhappy’.
Keef
responded by saying – and we’re still trying to figure out what exactly
this means and why he would want it doing – saying “Dat b*tch Katy
Perry Can Suck Skin Off Of my D*ck”, then “Ill Smack The Sh*t out her”
followed by an emoji that the heatworld website can’t replicate, but means ‘hand’. In other words, he issued a very peculiarly worded TWITTER THREAT.
THREAT
This
forced Katy to generally backpeddle and apologise and pretend she liked
Keef’s music, saying over the course of three tweets: “Mr. Keef! I'm
sorry if I offended you. I heard a lot of people guesting on the song
& didn't even know it was you in particular. Actually... I'm a fan
of your "Don't Like" video tbh. I was really just having a general
opinion on our generations desire to be constantly intoxicated. Believe
me, I'm a lover not a hater. x". This seems to have placated Keef, for
now.
Keef was born in 1995 (1995! 1995.)
and already has a rather lengthy Wikipedia section headed
‘Controversy’, so we’re guessing we’ll hear more of This Sort Of Thing
from him over the coming years until he either melts into obscurity or
is killed. Anyway, we look forward to his inevitable guest appearance on
a Katy Perry track some time this summer.
